Door types
- Entrance doors — uPVC, GRP composite or timber composite front and back doors.
- French doors — a pair of doors that open outwards, joining a room to the garden.
- Sliding patio doors — large panels that slide, so they never swing into your space.
- Bi-fold doors — panels that fold and stack to open almost the whole wall.
- Stable doors — split horizontally so the top half opens on its own.
- Fire doors — certified door sets for places where regulations require them.
Materials
uPVC is practical and low-maintenance. Composite doors combine a solid core with a tough outer skin (GRP or timber-based) for a heavier, more solid feel.
Glass
Glass in and next to doors must be safety glass (toughened or laminated). Obscure glass keeps privacy in front doors and bathrooms.
Security
External doors use multi-point locks that engage the frame at several points. Ask us about locks certified to recognised security standards if your insurer requires them.
Measuring
Door openings need careful measuring, including the threshold. Send us your measurements with a quote request and we'll check them with you. Our measuring guide explains the basics.
